Princess dress

I made a Princess dress for a 5-year old. I didn’t use a pattern, I just cut out the fabric pieces by eye and used a measuring tape to ensure I was making the dress to the right dimensions.

Sorry, no in-progress pictures! It was a fair bit of work but not that hard as the dress is adjustable at the back, so the measurements didn’t have to come down to the cm. I used a pink outer fabric and pink with stripes for the under skirt and lining of the bodice. I used lace and band for decoration, as well as a Frozen patch and glitter buttons.

I fixed the straps in place at the back when the girl tried on the dress (in the photo, the straps are held in place by clips).

This was really fun to make, and the girl loves the dress!

I have been crafting since early childhood and currently do mostly sewing and illustration. 'Almalauha' is the project I started to showcase my sewing/fashion hobby, at least that was the plan. But because I like a million different arts/crafts things, I'm just going to share most of the creative things I do on this blog.
