I have taught a few workshops in the recent past and I am keen to teach arts/crafts more often. Below you can find some examples of what I have taught/facilicated:
OL13 Bacup Zine This is a workshop to create contents for the community (maga)zine I started for the Bacup area. For the first edition I organised two workshops. For the second edition I am organising one workshop. This will be at
The ABD Centre in Bacup, Lancashire, on Saturday July 11, 2026. Find details on the
OL13 Bacup Zine website. Below you can see photos of the previous two workshops.
Communal canvas In this workshop, participants paint on a large canvas so that many people contribute to one large piece of work. The medium is acrylic paints, which are easy to work with and dry quite quickly. I have facilicated this workshop at the
Rossendale Art Trail in May 2026 at
Valley Artists Rossendale where it was a big hit. In the picture below you can see the youngest person to take part (aged 8) alongside the oldest person to take part (aged 80). This canvas did not have a theme, so participants could freely paint to their own vision. It is also possible to set a specific theme for the work if you'd like a work to be created that is cohesive and fits the occasion or the venue where you would like to display the completed work.

Mixed media booklet or personal zine This is a workshop to use various techniques in a handmade booklet to create a personal booklet or zine on a topic or theme of your own choosing. Some of the techniques are: collage; watercolour; paint pens; pencil and pens; cutting or tearing out bits from magazines, books and newspaper; stapling; using tape; handstitching; using stamps. This is a great way to explore the different techniques as well as to explore a topic or idea, or whatever you choose as the theme for your booklet. If the result is to be a zine, the maker can scan and print the pages off to create copies of their booklet to become a zine. If participants want to, they could donate a copy of their zine to
The Travelling Zine Library UK, which I run.

Creative watercolour In this workshop, participants try out some watercolour techniques using an instruction leaflet I created. Then they will listen to a curated playlist and apply what they have learned to create small art works, one for each song on the playlist. The music is selected to offer a very wide range of styles and themes to provide lots of different inspiration for the works of art.
