I have a few ideas for what I'd love to be able to do or organise. The largest idea at the moment is to start a communal art studio in Bacup, Lancashire. Surrounding towns have one or even several art studios but at the moment, we don't have anything like this in Bacup.

Bacup is not a tiny town with around 13,000 inhabitants, so surely there are at least 5-10 artists who would be interested in renting a studio space in Bacup. I know several residents in Bacup currently rent studio space in another town, and the local studios I know of have wait lists for a space.

I wrote down what a communal art studio must have and what would be lovely for it to have, as an entry in the first edition of OL13 Bacup Zine, see the images below. If you are someone interested in this either as a landlord or property developer or an artist, please get in touch with me. We can connect and be aware of each other's existence and all keep our feelers out for a suitable property, as that is the main bottleneck to starting this project. Rent for a studio space would probably be in the area of £100-150 per person per month for a decent property, so please keep this in mind.
